  - Closing ceremony
    
The closing ceremony will be held at the Accomodation Centre at the Games Village on Friday 2 July at 19:30. The ceremony begins with musical entertainment.
  
PROGRAMME FOR THE CLOSING CEREMONY
Venue: Visborgsvallen/Exhuset
Reserved places on the stands for members of the press. No photographers within the enclosed area or at the centre of events in the arena.
19.30 Musical entertainment
20.00 All competitors assemble in the arena, behind the stage
20.05 The placard bearer, standard bearer, general team manager, and one competitor from each island march into the arena, entering from the north-west, and assemble in front of the stand, in two rows with eleven islands on each side.
20.20 Presentation of memorial plaques by Jan-Erik Nilsson, Chairman of the Gotland Chamber of Commerce. One recipient from each island, all standing in a semicircle facing the stand.
20.30 Dance performance by Trojaborg
20.45 A representative of the Isle of Man takes water from the fountain to save for the next NatWest Island Games. The fountain is in front of the press stand.
All the standard bearers form an arch around the podium.

The Chairman of the Island Games Association, Alan Cross, asks for the flag to be lowered and given to him, after which he hands it over to a representative of the Isle of Man. Eight gold medallists will lower the flag and hand it to Alan Cross. The flagpole is behind the spectators’ stand.
The Chairman of the Island Games Association asks the county governor, Lillemor Arvidsson, to formally declare the 1999 NatWest Island Games on Gotland closed.
21.00 The Viking ship will enter from the south-east and come to a stop in front of the stand. The shields making up the ship will then be presented one to each island.
21.15 Representatives of the Isle of Man welcomes everyone to the next NatWest Island Games in 2001
21.20 Conclusion with "Gotlandic Summer Night"
       
The evening ends with at disco and entertainment at the Accommodation Centre, where beer and snacks will be on sale.
