| Gotlands
Idrottsförbund (Gotland's Sports Federation) stands for the main arrangement of all
competitions, but each respective sport will be responsible for it's own competitive
branch. The Federation arranged, as early as 1996, an Organisation Committee responsible
for NatWest Island Games, and in this committee the Municipality of Gotland, Gotland's
Military Command and Gotland's Tourist Bureau are the main representatives. The Organising Committee has in turn appointed sub-commissions with different levels of responsabilities. Thorsten Palmquist has been appointed as General Secretary in charge of the Games, and has been on duty as of July 1st, 1997. A special NatWest Island Games staff has been instituted. |
